War is the recollection of your lost brothers.

In war, soldiers build an inconceivable amount of trust in the people they fight with. This is not just because they look out for each other, but also because they are able to understand each other's pain, emotions and experiences. These few understandings can forge an incredible bond between men and can produce a brotherhood among them. However, these brothers are sometimes lost during battle. In the image above we see a veteran from the vietnam war visiting the memorial, that was created for those who died, and remembering all of his brothers who were lost in battle. All veterans have made bonds with the people they have fought for and mourn over the loss of a brother. The pain that comes from this tortures them everyday of their lives until they can find a way to relieve their pain.

  4. The image you chose was extremely touching. It was cool to see the reflection of the "brothers" he lost in war that you mentioned in your statement above. I love how you brought in the concept of brotherhood because sometimes men can be at war for years at a time and they create bonds with the people who become their family. You did a great job at connecting to the image in your artist statement. Loved what you had to say! GOOD JOB!!
