Silent
War is... Silent.

A large amplitude of the military's beliefs revolve around some type of GOD. Most silent moments in war are consumed of prayers, promises, or obligations. In this drawing, it is a prayer. The soldier removed his gear to separate himself from war and peace; to focus himself just on faith. He thinks he is alone. He wants to pray alone. The moment he stepped out of the protection of the other soldiers is the moment he is in danger. Some Soldiers can not handle the pressure anymore. The death. The quiet. He prays by bowing his head and closing his eyes. This action put his life in danger; closing himself off from the war is hazardous. The enemy took this opportunity to neutralize his target. Is it truly safe to bring your faith to war? Soldiers need physical as well as mental protection to keep going. They need to believe in something. The white space under the ground represents emptiness; an abyss. The afterlife is derived from a lacuna. The white space is confusion for those who do not understand what comes next, like this young soldier. Some believe in reincarnation, others believe in spirits, but those who believe in heaven and hell are always battling with deception. What if it isn’t real? Where do you go when you “go”?
The image is well-done, and goes hand-in-hand with the statement. Intricate detailing, and the method of using "silence" strays from the norm, giving this statement a sort of unique vibe.
