War is scarring. Although war can be literally scarring, it can also be mentally scarring. From the deaths of fellow soldiers to the deaths of the enemies you’ve killed. Seeing the gruesome murder of humans. The vivid images of the gore of war. These images stick with you because they are images of death. The end of someone’s life. They will never see their families again; you feel the sorrow of their loved ones as if they were your own.In this visual, the man is holding his wounded friend. They are at war together and the man who is closer to the camera looks like he is in pain and he is being comforted by the other soldier. He will have the memory of the battle and the man who shot him. When he gets home he may have PTSD, some people are able to transition back to society like the veteran who came to our class. A veteran who spoke to our class said that many if not most of the soldiers that were in Vietnam had a very hard time when they were back due to PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder). People who have PTSD had stress from memories in the war. It takes a big toll on their life because they cannot get the haunting images of war out of their minds.
