War is a method for one group to impose its beliefs on another group

War is a method for one group to impose its beliefs on another group. The source of a war is discrepancy between two groups. Each group generally sees their beliefs as the sole solution to a problem. The idea is that if the groups go to war, then the winning side will get to put their beliefs into action. The flaw in this thinking, however, is that both groups should not be forced into thinking the same way. When war is used as the solution to a problem, it really is not a solution at all. War causes hatred and violence. Innocent people lose their lives or are seriously injured for the “greater good”. What is the greater good though? Is it to force everyone to conform to a singular belief? The image above shows a gun shooting a bullet which looks like the American flag, as the bullet tears through a peace sign. The bullet is symbolic of the American culture. The trigger on the gun was pulled because the target does not have the same views as “America”. By shooting the gun, it is showing that we as a country do not agree with their beliefs. It is a representation that we believe they should change to be more like us. Our “american” bullets are somehow more superior than a person's life, or another country. Our american bullets are somehow more superior than peace.

  1. I think that in some cases America declares war in order to protect itself and in other cases to impose their beliefs. I would like to say that it is actually a mixture of both. Assuming you are talking about Vietnam, I think that, yes, the U.S wanted to impose its beliefs but it was in order to protect our country in the long run. I think that any country's top priority is to protect itself. So war is not so much about ruining peace as it is making sure there is no threat to the country.
